World's End Estate Pastorate - Evening Details

We will be experimenting with a slightly different format for our evenings. We will plan to meet on the estate every week. The first part of the evening will be given over to various activities in and around the estate (mentoring, visiting, English classes, kids club), after which we will gather together for something to eat, and then have a time together as a pastorate.

A typical pastorate evening will therefore look something like this:

We hope that in time, many of those who we interact with on the estate will join us for food, or even stay for whole evening.

Activities

These will include either one-on-one mentoring/visiting, or for those involved with kidz club, planning/rehearsing for the next session (Sundays, 2 till 4). In addition, we will take it in turns to do the cooking for the group, and staff the I.T. drop-in, on a rota basis (which probably only means once a term for most people).

The timing of the “activities”, and their frequency, will be flexible, and will depend on individual circumstances - for example some might mentor an older kid every week from 6 till 7.30, and then come for food, whereas someone else might do some extra English classes with an individual once a fortnight from 7.30 till 8.15 and then join for food. In other words, not everyone needs to start at the same time, and not everyone will be able to make every week – we’ll try and plan it to fit with everyone’s timetable, but we obviously try to commit to the timetable once we’ve made it!

Pastorate Meeting

Either way, the pastorate meeting bit of the evening will start (after food) at 8.30, and will take one of two formats on an alternating basis;
